Thrift Meister's RV Tips
* Be sure to carry a pre-paid calling or two with
you.
* Keep a stash of quarters for unexpected events
like tolls, parking meters etc.
* Carry a carbon monoxide detector, smoke dector,
and a fire extinguisher with a real guage on it to show pressure--not
just a $10 plastic model--they lose pressure to easily.
* To conserve gray-water holding tank space turn
water off while soaping up in the shower.
* Use dishpans to wash and rinse dishes. When
finished, pour water down toilet into the black-water holding tank.
* Wash your RV in the evening out of the sun to
help prevent water spots. And, adding ½ cup regular vinegar to
wash bucket also helps prevent spots.
* Use vasaline around any entry points into your
RV to stop ants from entering. Put moth balls around areas where spiders
like to hang out to deter them.
* Filter any water source.
* If you will be RVing with pets take them out
on several small trips around town to get use to traveling before going
on a big trip so the can get use to the RV. Take along their favorite
blanket or play toy to give them something familiar.
* Fabric softener sheets placed in drawers, closets,
etc in the RV helps prevents musty odors.
