A site devoted to thrift should have
some free business opportunities that will allow you to make some money
without having to pay anything for the opportunty. Some of these opportunities
are designed for making small amounts others have serious potential.There
is no cost to join any of them.
Search Cactus
Search Cactus is as its name implies a search
engine which pays you to try products offered by various vendors.
Here is how the game is played. Various companies
will pay you for trying their product. Granted there are a few offers
that only require you to sign up for a free offer or let them send you
email (which you can cancel out of anytime), but most require you to
buy it or give them your credit card number so they bill you at the
end of the 30 day free trial period. These offers typically pay you
$5 or more. Credit cards and long distance services usually pay you
$15 - $20 for their product. Do just a few of these each month and you
easily build up to $20 or more in your account (minimum needed to get
a check cut). The TM has already
gotten several checks for $20 or more. No, you won't get rich with this
program, but you can make $20 every so often from the program and get
a good deal once in a while too.
But the good news doesn't stop there. You can
also do quite well with some of the actual services or free trial offers.
For example, with the DVD rentals you can get two or three DVDs to look
at and if you cancel during the 30 day free trial period and don't keep
the service you got $5 plus the chance to view a few DVDs. Buying clubs
will give you coupons to keep even if you cancel before the end of the
trial period.
Some of the offers are actually good buys. The
TM saved over $120 a year in insurance by switching to a company
who provided insurance quotes (Think long-term here-that means in 10
years it will have save me $1,200). I signed up to get insurance quotes
just to get the $2, but actually saved quite a bit from one of the companies
which responded with a quote. Road Saver, in addition, to all the usual
travel club services will give you numerous coupons for reduced prices
on various services on your auto such as oil changes, tune ups, new
belts, tires etc. You never know what you might come up with so check
back at the site from time to time to keep abreast of the various offers
which are constantly changing.
Some of the offers are keepers. The Chase stockback
credit card not only throws you $17 upfront money, but at least 1% (sometimes
10%) of your purchase goes into a stock mutual fund which grows for
you as long as you want and you can sell your shares and cash out any
time you please.
When you sponser someone into either program you
make money off of all the Quick Cash offers your referral's sign up
for and further boost your cash flow. You also get paid 25% on all your
referral's search activity. You always want to make money off of what
other people do--leverage yourself.
So thus far the TM has gotten several
checks for $20 or more, saved money on various services, gotten paid
to get a credit card which invests money into a mutual fund on his behalf,
and is still saving money on insurance--you just have to play it smart
and you get money, make money and save money out of this site several
different ways. Put a star by this one--its worth trying.

Resource-A-Day
Resource a Day (RAD) is another painless way to
make a little dough on the side. Just sign up, they send you an email
each day (just delete it days when you don't have time to read it) and
days when you do they do have some useful stuff in it for anyone doing
their own web page, good tips in the area of personal finance, general
interest, and corny jokes. But their referral program makes it worth
it. You get $10 credited to your account just for signing up, 40¢
for everyone you sponser into the program, 20¢ for every one they
sponser, 5¢ for everyone they sponser, and finally at the 4th level
down 3¢ for everyone they sponser.
