* Mix 4 parts water, 1 part white vinegar, and 1 part rubbing alcohol. Fill a spray bottle with this and use it to clean almost any surface and it cuts almost anything on glass without streaking.

* Change the filter on your air conditioning and heating return vent on a regular basis.

* To get smells out of the garbage disposer grind up either orange, lemon, or grapefruit peelings while running hot water through it.

* To get smells out of the washing machine add a quart of white vinegar to a full-size load in hot water (do not put clothes in this load). Run a rinse cycle afterwards. To santize the washer do a full size load in hot water (no clothes in this load )with oxygen bleach. Run a rinse cycle afterwards.

* Instead of buying foil, wax paper, or plastic wrap use plastic containers to store food—they can be reused instead of having to buy more wrapping all the time.

* Only wash clothes when you can do full loads. Use cold water as much as possible.

* Put soap bar wrapper in old shoe or shoe box holding old shoes with lid on it to freshen up old smelly shoes

*Spraying Tupperware with a nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces will eliminate stains.

* Instead of throwing away solid color material such as curtains when they get sun faded dye them and avoid having to buy new ones. You can also dye solid color clothing such as jeans.

* You can extend the life of a blow dryer by keeping the lint off the air vents. User tweezers would work and I’ve even picked it off with a toothpick.

* To help preserve the life of your cupcake pans if you don’t have enough batter to fill all of them—put tablespoon of water into the unfilled ones.

* To save on the water bill put a quart jar of water in the toilet tank. Also, install a water saving shower head.

* Throw a dry towel in with a load of clothes being dried to reduce the amount of time needed to dry the load.

* Cascade can be used to clean countertops and the gel formula shines stainless steel for much less than stainless steel cleaners.
